Social counselling

Social counselling may be provided in two ways – as basic social counselling or professional social counselling.

Basic social counselling means providing the information necessary to solve or overcome a difficult social situation. Basic social counselling is included in all forms of social service as a basic activity which the providers of social services are always required to provide.

Professional social counselling is aimed at the specific needs of individual circles of social groups.
